Dutch family game
Eighteen relatives, and two of them are doing double duty. Neef is both a male cousin and a nephew, nicht is both a female cousin and a niece, and Dutch simply does not draw the line English draws.

Questions
Does neef mean cousin or nephew?
Both, and context decides. The same holds for nicht, which covers cousin and niece. If it matters, Dutch says it the long way round, but in everyday speech the one word carries both.
Gezin or familie?
Gezin is the household: parents and children under one roof. Familie is everyone else, the wider relations. This set uses gezin, which is the one English has no single word for.
Oma and opa rather than grootmoeder and grootvader?
Oma and opa are what people actually say, to and about their grandparents. The longer forms exist and sound stiff, roughly the way grandmother sounds next to grandma.
