Twelve months, four seasons, and the four calendar words around them: der Monat, das Jahr, nächsten Monat, letzten Monat. The months are the easiest set in German for an English speaker, which makes this the one to play when you want a win.

Questions
Do Austrians use different month names?
For two of them. Austria says Jänner for January and, less often now, Feber for February. The set teaches the standard German forms, which are understood everywhere including Austria.
Is it im Januar or in Januar?
Im Januar. The same contraction covers every month and every season: im Sommer, im Herbst. In on its own is what you want for years and countries, not months.
