German question words game
Twelve question words, and German splits where into three of them. Wo is where something is, woher is where it came from, wohin is where it is going, and choosing the wrong one changes what you asked.

Questions
What is the difference between wo, woher and wohin?
Wo wohnst du? is where do you live. Woher kommst du? is where are you from. Wohin gehst du? is where are you going. English leans on where plus a preposition; German has a separate word for each.
Warum or wieso?
Both mean why and both are correct. Warum is the neutral one and the one to learn first. Wieso is a shade more conversational, and weshalb, which is not in this set, is the bookish one.
Wie viel or wie viele?
Wie viel for things you measure, wie viele for things you count. Wie viel kostet das? for a price, wie viele Kinder? for a number of children.
