Nineteen relatives, each with its article, and one pair separated by a single accent: a avó is grandmother, o avô is grandfather. Four entries are masculine plurals that cover mixed groups, including os pais and os irmãos.

Avó or avô?
The accent is the whole difference. Avó, with the open ó, is grandmother. Avô, with the closed ô, is grandfather. They are spelled identically otherwise and sound different enough that Brazilians never confuse them.
Does os irmãos mean brothers or siblings?
Both. A masculine plural covers a mixed group, so os irmãos is brothers when they all are and siblings when they are not. Os pais is parents, os filhos is children, and os avós is grandparents on the same rule.
