Questions
Why are there three ways to ask where someone lives?
French forms questions three ways. Putting the question word at the end is casual speech, est-ce que is the neutral everyday form, and inverting the verb and pronoun is formal or written. All three are correct; they are not interchangeable socially.
What is the difference between qui and que?
Qui asks about a person, que about a thing. Qui est-ce ? is who is it, qu'est-ce que c'est ? is what is it.
