Twelve months, four seasons, and the four calendar words around them: il mese, l'anno, il mese prossimo, il mese scorso. Most months are readable on sight; gennaio and giugno are the two that need a second look.

Giugno or luglio?
Giugno is June and luglio is July. They are the pair most often swapped, because English June and July also start alike, and the Italian ones share neither their order of letters nor their sound.
Is it a gennaio or in gennaio?
Both are used, with a gennaio the more common in speech. Seasons take in: in primavera, in estate, in autunno, in inverno.
